Exciting Improvements Are Coming to Drugan’s
We’re excited to share a major golf course improvement project coming to Drugan’s Castle Mound. Beginning September 15, 2026, we will begin re-grassing the back nine, including the fairways, tees, and greens.
This project is an investment in the future of the course, with the goal of providing an even better playing surface and overall golf experience for our members and guests for years to come.
We also want to recognize Golf Course Superintendent Aaron Bulman for the care, hard work, and dedication he puts into the course year after year. We’re incredibly proud of the course conditions this season and look forward to building on that work with these upcoming improvements.

What’s Changing?
As part of the project, the greens on the back nine will be planted with Tillinghast, a new hybrid bentgrass. The fairways and tees will be seeded with a four-way blend of low-mow bluegrass.
These newer grass varieties offer several benefits, including greater disease resistance, improved tolerance to wear, and the potential to require less water.
What Golfers Need to Know
Work is scheduled to begin September 15, 2026. At that time, the back nine will close for the remainder of the season and remain closed into the spring.
Our goal is to reopen the back nine by May 2027.
While the back nine is closed, golfers who would like to play 18 holes will have the option to play the front nine twice.
We know this temporary closure will change how you play the course, and we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding while the work is completed. We’re excited about what’s ahead and think you’ll really enjoy the finished project.
